Carl Hiaasen is rapidly emerging as one of my most cherished authors.

"Skin Tight" is replete with fascinating characters that draw you in irresistibly. The plot is truly outlandish, yet it becomes entirely believable due to these engaging characters and the humorous dialogue that peppers the narrative.

This is a great book, offering an abundance of enjoyment during the reading process. I highly recommend it.

"He glued the man to the hood of his car. By the balls. Stark naked, glued to the hood of an Eldorado convertible." This vivid and rather shocking image serves to further pique the reader's interest and add to the overall allure of the story.

Hiaasen's writing style is both captivating and unique, making his books a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery or a humorous tale with a twist.

Whether you're a seasoned reader or just looking for a new and exciting book to pick up, "Skin Tight" is definitely worth your time.

Give it a try and see for yourself why Carl Hiaasen is quickly becoming a favorite among so many.

This is truly great fun. I have only recently discovered Carl Hiaason, but I am thoroughly enjoying catching up on his books.

In "Skin Tight", Mick Stranahan, an ex-Private Investigator, leads a quiet and isolated life in a stilt house in a Florida bay. However, events at a cosmetic surgery clinic bring back a case he once investigated, which now threatens the clinic's owner. As a result, Mick's own life and those of others are put at risk, and a convoluted and rather crazy plot unfolds. It's truly terrific fun.

Hiaason writes extremely well. He is not only witty but also sometimes hilariously funny. He takes great pleasure in poking fun at the worst aspects of Florida, such as corruption, vain and vacuous rich residents and visitors, slimy lawyers, dodgy plastic surgeons, and ludicrous TV hosts. The cast of characters is excellent, and Mick himself is a fine, calm, and competent protagonist. The entire story is a pleasure to read, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I'll definitely be reading more of Hiaason's works very soon.

ReedIII Quick Review:

This linear tale takes us on a journey that follows our hero and other characters through a series of inept murders and equally inept murder attempts. The events that unfold are highly improbable and exaggerated to the extreme. There are no truly formidable villains in this story, which means that our hero never really seems to be in any real danger. In fact, this narrative leans more towards being a comic satire rather than a traditional crime fiction. It offers a lighthearted and humorous take on the genre, with its bumbling characters and absurd plot twists. While it may not satisfy those looking for a serious and intense crime thriller, it does provide an entertaining and轻松的 read for those who enjoy a bit of comical relief.

Overall, ReedIII is a unique and somewhat unconventional offering that manages to blend elements of comedy and satire with the crime fiction genre in an interesting and engaging way.

I went on a vacation to Hawaii. During my stay there, I correctly guessed that Skin Tight would be an excellent choice for a beach read or perhaps a timeshare book, depending on the situation.

Anyway, you just have to love a book that begins with a character defending his small one-room home in a backwater area of Florida by impaling an intruder with a stuffed swordfish, which was the only weapon available at hand. This book also proceeds to criticize the plastic surgery industry, especially those unqualified quacks (pun intended) who handle the lives of dissatisfied people with their incompetent hands.

I first discovered Carl Hiaasen's children's books, Hoot and Flush. After that, I decided to give his adult books a try. Since then, I have also read Basket Case and have not been let down. Carl Hiaasen's mystery/suspense novels are skillfully crafted and satirical, with just enough humor to lighten the tough and gritty aspects.

His writing style keeps the readers engaged from the beginning to the end, and the unique storylines make his books stand out. Whether you are on a beach vacation or just looking for an interesting read, Carl Hiaasen's novels are definitely worth checking out.
