Thanks to my wife, Gina, I was introduced to Carl Hiaasen, and I have truly relished many of his outstanding and absurd novels. These novels focus on the worst aspects of Florida humanity in the most hilarious ways.

Mining similar territory as Elmore Leonard and Harry Crews, Hiaasen's stories still possess a very unique flavor. Each book I have read has been exquisitely written. I can't find any fault with the author's remarkable talent for constructing sentences and character-unique dialogue.

So, it really boils down to the plots. In my opinion, plot perfection was achieved in "Lucky You", "Skinny Dip", "Stormy Weather", "Skin Tight" and "Basket Case", with "Lucky You" being at the very top. If they awarded Pulitzer prizes to farces, this would surely have been a recipient.

Regrettably, "Nature Girl" was one that I was much less excited about. The plot seemed contrived to me, and unlike his other books that feature a diverse range of ingenious settings, the second half of this less-amusing novel takes place on a single island, making it tiresome and seemingly endless.

Overall, Carl Hiaasen is a talented author, but like any writer, not every book is a home run. I still look forward to reading more of his works and seeing what other crazy and entertaining stories he has in store.

As a die-hard fan of Carl Hiaasen, it is extremely difficult not to have an affinity for all of his books.

The remarkable characters that inhabit his literary works are more than sufficient reason to purchase them. And that's not even taking into account the outstanding story lines.

You simply can't refrain from rooting for Nature Girl. Although she may face her share of difficulties, she is a fighter through and through. Her loyalty remains unwavering and genuine.

The characters in this book span from a couple of truly despicable individuals to some really nice yet flawed people, characters that one might conceivably encounter in real life.

Most of the story unfolds within and among Florida's numerous tiny island groupings. It is an exciting narrative presented in the classic Hiaasen style, with never a dull moment and even a few humorous episodes along the way.

It is a very exciting and enjoyable book that is sure to captivate readers from start to finish.

I truly believe that I have become completely addicted to these books. They are just so incredibly darn funny! Every time I pick one up, I find myself laughing out loud within minutes. The humor is so clever and engaging, it keeps me turning the pages non-stop. I can't get enough of the witty dialogues and the hilarious situations the characters find themselves in. It's like a magical escape from reality, where I can just relax and enjoy the pure entertainment. These books have definitely become a staple in my life, and I look forward to reading more and more of them. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves a good laugh and a great story.
