I have penned a fresh review of Carlos Castaneda, titled "The Science of Seers".

This review offers a distinct perspective as it juxtaposes Modern Science with the profound wisdom of the Shamans of Ancient Mexico and also delves into religion, all while addressing the fundamental existential questions that plague human beings.

For me, it positions the writings of Castaneda in a place they have never occupied before.

If you would be so kind as to take a look and peruse it, I would be most pleased.

"Fire from Within" presents some of the most detailed thoughts on the magical worldview present in Castaneda's books.

Maybe it's just that I'm now more used to his writing and have become more sympathetic over time, but I also found this to be the funniest of Castaneda's books so far.

The text focuses on a dialogue between Carlos and don Juan regarding the differences between the old seers and the new seers. The teachings revolve around three central concepts: stalking, awareness, and intent.

Although a simple explanation eludes both the text and the reader for any of these concepts, stalking can be best described as representing the interactions between the nagual and others. Awareness includes don Juan's discourses on dreaming and seeing, while intent is best understood as the magical Will extensively treated in the essence of Western Esotericism.

Throughout the dialogues, there are some truly amazing encounters between the apprentice, his sorcerous teachers, and various allies.

The nagual Julian becomes a focal point for don Juan and Genaro to explain the differences between the old seers and the new and also provide background for their current form(s) of sorcery. This offers a strong thematic continuation and logical exposition on the difference between types of what was called "power" in the earlier books.

Another significant concept is the assemblage point within a WoMan's cocoon (astral body) and how mastery of this concept can affect the relations between the seer and other organic/inorganic beings as well as the Earth itself.

Perhaps most importantly, we are treated to more teachings on stopping the inner dialogue.

Fantastic, meditative, and rich, I would say this has been and will continue to be a valuable book in my life.

Only a bell and a bird break the silence…

It seems as if the two engage in a conversation with the setting sun.

The golden colored silence makes the afternoon feel like it is crafted from crystals.

A roving purity gently sways the cool trees, and beyond all that,

a transparent river dreams of trampling over pearls.

It then breaks loose and flows into infinity.

If you were to incorporate a Juan Ramon Jimenez poem into an allegorical novel, you would know that it is bound to be excellent.

If the message you are seeking is what you find in the best Castaneda book, you have to approach it with a degree of skepticism.

However, the content in this version is rich and packed.

"Journey to Ixtlan & The Fire From Within" are very similar.

Both offer amazing resources and concepts for alternative patterns of thinking, which can open up new perspectives and ways of looking at the world.

These works have the potential to inspire and challenge readers, taking them on a journey of self-discovery and exploration.

Whether you are a fan of poetry or novels, or simply interested in expanding your mind, these works are definitely worth checking out.
