It's truly fascinating that this book has endured for such a long time, and yet its pacing and structure are completely unique compared to any crime, mystery, or thriller I've ever read before!

I was absolutely enthralled by it. Ira Levin did an outstanding job of keeping me on the edge of my seat, constantly guessing what was going to happen next.

The way he weaves the story and drops hints here and there makes it impossible to put the book down. Every time I thought I had figured something out, he would throw in a new twist that would completely change my perspective.

This book is a true masterpiece of the genre, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery or thriller. It's a must-read for fans of Ira Levin and anyone who enjoys a well-written, engaging story.

Lui allora scattò con la rapidità di un serpente. It was a sudden and unexpected movement that caught everyone's attention. The speed at which he reacted was truly astonishing.

Su questo thriller meglio non sapere nulla prima, né tantomeno sbirciare qualche presentazione. Sia pure minimalista rivelerebbe già troppo. It is advisable to go into this thriller completely blind, without even peeking at any summaries or presentations. Even the most minimalist of descriptions would give away too much.

Instead, it is better to start reading and let oneself be caught up in its vortex, to be contaminated by the thoughts and emotions of the characters, to immerse oneself in the atmosphere of the United States in the 1950s and to feed on its clichés and the literary topos that is exquisitely noir and exquisitely American.

Ecco tutto. That's all there is to it.

Che altro? What else?

Ah, sì. Alla sua prima prova narrativa Ira Levin è già un autore strepitoso. Ah, yes. In his first foray into narrative, Ira Levin is already a brilliant author.

What a great thriller indeed!

I discovered "A Kiss Before Dying" completely by accident. It was available for a mere 99p in Kindle format.

I had been taking a break from reading crime novels as I had grown bored with the plethora of mediocre ones being published at present. Police procedurals seemed to compete with each other to produce the most dysfunctional detective or describe the most sadistic murders in the grisliest detail, all while confusing me with constant shifts in point of view, head-hopping like a louse on speed.

Oh, what a joy it was to read this 1950s classic! It's a crime thriller that truly captured my attention and allowed me to step into the mind of a killer and his victims. The entire novel is brilliantly structured in terms of the plot. My expectations were completely subverted just over halfway through.

However, my greatest surprise of all was the discovery that Ira Levin was only 23 years old when he wrote this novel. The man was clearly a genius at storytelling and doing it well.

I'm very glad I had never seen either of the adaptations of this novel into film. This is a novel where the impact lies very much in the way the events unfold. It's also a story that couldn't have been set today as Facebook and Google would have made the plot unworkable!
