I don't give this one star only because this book spurred a great deal of research in Linguistics.

This created a significant amount of responsive research. The main reason for this is that people continued to cite this work despite its numerous and substantial flaws.

It is evident that the lack of clarity in his writing makes it more difficult to evaluate the work accurately.

If he were able to present his ideas in a more lucid and understandable manner, it would greatly facilitate the process of evaluating his work.

Clear writing is essential for effective communication and for enabling others to assess the validity and significance of the research.

Without it, valuable insights and contributions may be overlooked or misinterpreted.

Therefore, it is crucial for the author to focus on improving the clarity of his writing in order to enhance the impact and usability of his research.

Abandoned, DNF. This simply wasn't what I was hoping it would be.

Chomsky's nomenclature is widely used in computer science to describe programming languages and syntax. I had high hopes of getting a deep insight into the origin of terms like "regular grammar" and "type 2 grammar".

That crucial information might have been in here, but unfortunately, I couldn't make it past the first couple of chapters. I really tried my best.

This kind of academic writing seems to be overly focused on ensuring that no statement could possibly be incorrect. As a result, whatever valuable point is being made gets completely buried in the overly lawyerly language.

No thanks. I'll firmly stick with pop science writing for anything outside my immediate area of interest. :-)

It seems that for me, the clarity and simplicity of pop science writing are much more appealing when it comes to exploring topics that are not directly related to my main field of expertise.

I finished reading the book in three days and I shouldn't have done that.

My head is like a drum now.

I feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information I've absorbed in such a short time.

Maybe I should have taken my time and savored each page.

But I was so eager to know what happened next that I just couldn't stop.

Now I realize that sometimes it's better to go slow and really understand what you're reading.

Next time, I'll make sure to pace myself and not rush through a book like this again.

Hopefully, my head will stop pounding soon and I can start thinking clearly again.
