A sweet and painful story that is filled with some bumpy twists and turns unfolds before our eyes. The characters in this tale are diverse in their personalities and backgrounds, yet they share certain similarities that make them all the more relatable. Each character is full and vibrant,仿佛 they have stepped right out of the pages and into our hearts. They are all on a journey, trying to figure out the meaning of life, love, and everything in between.

The author has done a wonderful job of weaving this story together, creating a world that is both engaging and emotional. The writing is细腻 and evocative, painting a vivid picture in the reader's mind. It makes us laugh, cry, and everything in between.

Overall, this is a great read that leaves us longing for more. We can't wait to see what happens next in the sequel. It's sure to be just as精彩 and captivating as the first installment.

I thought this book was truly beautiful.

It presents the story of an ordinary life in a most engaging way. Lamont has done a remarkable job of delicately straddling the fine line between being thoughtful and yet maintaining a touch of flippancy.

She takes the small joys and pains of her characters very seriously, but at the same time, she never takes herself too seriously.

This balance is achieved in a masterful manner.

The way she weaves the narrative, bringing out the essence of each character's experiences, is truly impressive.

It makes the reader feel as if they are a part of the story, sharing in the characters' emotions and journey.

This book is not just a collection of words; it is a work of art that touches the heart and makes one reflect on the beauty and simplicity of everyday life.

This was my very first Anne Lamott book, and I read it approximately 10 years ago.

I had the intention of recommending "Blue Shoe" to my book club, mainly based on the positive reviews I had come across about it. So, I made the decision to read this one first. The reason was that it was short, and I was confident that I would be able to finish it in a relatively short period of time.

As it turned out, I did have a liking for it. However, there were certain moments when I didn't have a favorable opinion of Rosie or Elizabeth. In fact, I disliked Elizabeth more than Rosie. After all, Rosie was just a child, while Elizabeth was an alcoholic who was attempting to figure out her life. She interacted with her child more as an equal rather than treating her as a child.

It provides a rather good psychological exploration of people with problems and how they either overcome them or manage to live with them. After reading some of the author's memoirs and listening to her speak, I'm quite certain that some of this story is based on truth.

I liked it to such an extent that I indeed decided to recommend "Blue Shoe" to my book club.
