Watching the Trump trials sparked a bit of curiosity within me so I decided to get inside the mind of undoubtedly the most polarizing figure in modern times.

Donald Trump is rich white man camp. Overall, while the idea of a "rich white man camp" aesthetic may be somewhat tongue-in-cheek, it can be argued that Donald Trump embodies many of the key elements of this cultural style. His larger-than-life personality, extravagant lifestyle, and privileged status all contribute to his persona as a figure.

I was intrigued by "How to Get Rich" by Donald Trump. Despite the author's controversial political career, I approached the book with an open mind and a desire to learn from his experiences and insights.

Overall, I found the book to be a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the world of business. While some of Trump's advice may not apply to every situation or every industry, there are certainly nuggets of wisdom that can be applied to many different types of businesses.

One of the things that impressed me about the book was the depth of Trump's knowledge about the business world. He draws on a wide range of examples and anecdotes to illustrate his points, and he is clearly passionate about helping others succeed in business.

Of course, it's worth noting that not everyone will agree with Trump's advice or approach to business. Some readers may find his emphasis on competition and self-promotion to be off-putting, while others may disagree with his views on politics or other issues.

His wit and self-deprecating humor are especially notable, as he is not afraid to poke fun at himself or share embarrassing stories from his past. While some readers may find his humor to be crass or politically incorrect, there's no denying that he has a knack for entertaining and captivating his audience.

But regardless of one's personal beliefs, it's hard to deny that Trump has achieved a great deal of success in the business world. And for those looking to learn from that success, "How to Get Rich" is a valuable resource that offers plenty of practical advice and insights.

Update: September 2019

If I had known earlier his true colors, I would have given 1 star sooner.

Review from July 2014

It was alright at first then oddly turned inspiring. After knowing how the top 1% perform, it's truly remarkable how much they achieve in a day and the big thinking they carry with them every step of the way. I don't know anything about Donald Trump's autobiography so I can't really comment on his character much. Some will love him, and some will loath him and claim that he has gained mass amount of his wealth from lying and deception. None of that really matters to me because at the end of the day, you can choose to do business according to your goals and ethics. What matters is the picture Trump painted in the book. If you're highly successful, you can change so many people's lives and it's all up to you whether to put that power into good use. This book isn't recommended for those who are just starting out and wanting to know how the rich think, as there are many great books on that topic. This one is more like a depiction of what the top 1% are like, not how to get there, obviously, so in a sense the title of the book isn't that accurate.

Regardless, you can still learn something from it and will realize that many people have really small goals, presumably if they have any goals at all. It makes you compare these people to the top winners and realize they haven't lived life at all. Evidently, how you want to live your life all depends on the reflection of your life experience and goals, so if something makes you happy that doesn't mean that the subjective positivity will create the same effect on others. This means having small goals isn't necessary a bad thing and life itself is a complex creature without a definite answer. However, you can't deny the fact that there are a few people in this world who are truly making a big difference and derive great satisfaction from it. This is all we can learn from. Being ordinary is overrated. If you have all the time and money in the world, you can then start thinking beyond your circle like the less fortunate and help them. This is what many rich people do: they donate and give back. They realize that there are beggars living on the street all across the world. The question is how many people acknowledge their existence and try to help them. We need more people who think big and think for others. In this century, there's no excuse to not make a lot of money and be intellectually and financially self-sufficient. The Internet has changed everything. It all depends on whether you're gonna use it to play Facebook or make millions off of it. Well...that's not really related to the book but you know what I mean.

A great quote I got from Donald Trump is something like "if you're gonna think, think big". Love it! I'm already a person who thinks big, but after reading this I felt so small and made me revaluate my plans and what I wanna achieve. Life's too short to be thinking small. It's a garden, dig it!

There was SOME solid advice in there, but a lot of unnecessary info. Literally one third of the book is about his lifestyle and self promotion. The title doesn't match the content! Maybe Trump's an ok businessman, not so good of an author.

tI really enjoyed this book as it gave me a very unique perspective on many business ideas. I would consider Donald Trump as a very successful person and a very wise and experienced businessman. In the book he reports other successful business peoples perspectives and ways to handle problems. He also gave many tips on how to invest wisely, negotiate anything, and maintain the quality of your brand.
tThis book gives invaluable insight into Trump’s career both in business and in politics. It can be seen how he became president from the tactics that he applied into the political sphere. Although he still had hair when he wrote the book, it is still relevant in the world today. You would be an idiot not to read the book.

Read a mix of three of his books together, one on YouTube when I had wifi on the train, and the other two in audiobook format when I didn't have wifi. I may be mixing this one with 'Art of the Deal', but the best part of the books is when he goes through an itinerary of his day. He takes more phone calls in 15 minutes than I though possible.

The main things I took away from his books is to not let people waste your time in meetings and phone calls. Between this and valuing time in periods of 15 minutes, rather than hours, he's able to get more done than anyone else.

The way I think about it is when someone asks how much time is in a day, you probably respond with "24 hours". It's this way of thinking that leads us to waste chunks of less than a complete hour after finishing a multi-hour task. For example, when we finish something at an off time, such as 12:42PM, we tend to spend the rest of the hour wasting it. These little pockets of time add up to several hours at the end of the day. Valuing time in smaller portions, such as 15 minute periods, leads us to believe that that leftover 18 minutes is more than enough time to get some productive work in.

I expect as I move towards valuing these 15 minutes, the new period becomes smaller, such as 5 minute periods, and so on and so forth.

Some interesting ideas and maxims, and honest insight into the daily operations of the pre-Presidency Trump organization. However, like any book written with a ghost-writer for a known public figure, it limits access to anything raw or unique about the challenges or failures that the Trump organization has faced.

I must admit that I'll probably won't become rich after reading this book. The ideas are the same as what you find in other books, it is just spiced with the (in)famous Trump attitude of "it's not whether you win or lose but whether you win!"

However, it is entertaining and I suppose that is what Trump like to be shown as: A rich, crazy wannabe president of United States.

Chắc chắn mình sẽ nghe lại vài lần nữa!

this book was all over the place, one minute hes talking about being a successful business man...then employee?! 2 very different things...and covers vaguely some good points...but not a great way to conclude the subject...

Now don't get me wrong, this guy is awesome and knows his business (evidently with his immense success) but hasn't been one of the better books of his or ones I have read...

An example is...imagine he was teaching internet marketing...he'd cover ppc, adwords, clickbank...mlm...network marketing in a few paragraphs each...NOT ENOUGH! and in a way covering too much, each too vaguely - yes concentrating on one or 2 aspects would have done the trick...ie branding and building a list

Obviously I can't expect a full thesaurus on 'getting rich' but some CONCENTRATED entrepreneurial wisdom would have been beneficial and better from good old Donald J Trump!...maybe am being harsh and this is good for a complete beginner/idiot? lol

To Our Continued Success!

If you're dying to know the art behind Trump's mop top and how he met his younger-than-his-daughter-wife, then this is the book for you! Arrogance and celebrity insights! Reads just like Seventeen Magazine!

No really, I was hoping to read about Trump's fascinating real estate deals, lured in by his challenge "Five Billion Reasons Why You Should Read This Book," but no, I got to read about his hair instead in a chapter that I kid you not, is titled "The Art of the Hair."
