I used to see this company, "Lonely Planet". They are the leaders in travel guides, and their books are easy and comprehensive... This is one of them, and it covers 8 countries! Of course, the coverage is not detailed, but I found it sufficient for a traveler for one or two weeks to any of these countries.

At first, I scoffed at it when I found a lot of information, addresses, and lists, like someone reading a dictionary, and I thought in my heart that it was not worth it... But when I wanted to visit Carlsbad in southern Bavaria, Germany, I found the essence of the matter in half a page instead of the chaos of Google.

They have a nice style in describing big cities, where they present you with a central point, such as a train station, and you can understand from it the direction of the city and its different parts relative to the central point, so that if you visit it, you will feel as if you know it already.

As I mentioned, the reference information is very abundant, and it may have been important before the Internet, such as the addresses of hotels, restaurants, their prices, pharmacies, churches, and other things that a traveler may need. If it were removed in the latest editions, it would be better... You can remove two-thirds of the book if you delete it, and in fact, the remaining third is not for reading, but rather a reference as well, but it is cultural and a travel guide for the area you are visiting. Therefore, I only read about Bavaria and a little of Austria and Slovenia.

I hoped that it would have historical, cultural, and other information related to the country, such as the economy, industry, and geographical description. There is some of that, but very little. So the history is there, but it is limited. As for the culture, it was art and other things that they like, and I found it boring.
