It's a novel. No, it's a cartoon. Wait! It's both... and much more.

This unique creation blurs the boundaries between different art forms. It combines the depth and complexity of a novel with the vivid imagery and expressiveness of a cartoon.

The story unfolds in a captivating way, with richly developed characters and a plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The detailed illustrations bring the scenes to life, adding another layer of visual appeal.

But it's not just a simple combination of the two. It also incorporates elements of other genres, such as adventure, fantasy, and mystery. This makes it a truly multi-faceted and engaging piece of work.

Whether you're a fan of novels or cartoons, or simply looking for something new and exciting, this creation has something for everyone. It's a must-read for those who appreciate the beauty and creativity of different art forms.

I, Big George, was completely blown away, BOOM, by this remarkable cartoon. It was filled to the brim with bugs and blue globes (balls), which have consumed my mind for the past few months.

Who would emerge victorious? Who would suffer defeat? Was there even a war unfolding?! As the reader, I simply couldn't get enough of the intense struggles that the bugs (a praying mantis bartender and a Noh dancing caterpillar), along with the electric balls and other inhabitants of this book, fought through. It jumped seamlessly from the past to the present, traversing all through time.

Where am I? Where are you? What lies ahead? BUG, HELP! All of Vollmann begins here, my bright and risen angels. This is truly the start of a beautiful journey into a brilliant mind. READ IT SOON! When you gaze at a light, does it turn blue?

The vivid imagery and the captivating storyline of this cartoon have left an indelible mark on my imagination. I find myself constantly thinking about the various characters and their adventures. It's as if I've been transported into a whole new world, filled with mystery and excitement.

I highly recommend this cartoon to anyone who is looking for a unique and engaging reading experience. It will surely take you on a wild ride and leave you craving for more. So, don't hesitate, pick up this book and embark on this wonderful journey today!

I think it's finally time to admit that I'm never going to finish reading this boring cinderblock.

This book has been sitting on my shelf for what feels like an eternity. Every time I pick it up, I struggle to get through even a few pages. The story just doesn't seem to go anywhere, and the characters are so uninteresting that I can't bring myself to care about what happens to them.

I keep telling myself that I should give it another chance, that maybe it will get better. But deep down, I know that's just wishful thinking. I've reached the point where I'd rather spend my time doing something else, anything else, than trying to force myself to read this book.

So, I'm going to make peace with the fact that I'm never going to finish it. I'll move on to something more exciting and engaging, and hope that the next book I pick up will be a real page-turner.

Such mental haziness is in order, given the delightful vagueness of the terrain.

In the classic 1989 movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, the family's patriarch, Clark Griswold, remarks that they are going to have the best-looking house in town. As he scoops up a series of battered cardboard boxes filled with Christmas lights, he mutters that he has always wanted to do this. His uneager son, Russ, comments that "it's a lot of lights, dad." Clark responds, "Well, sure it's a lot of work too, but if I'm out in the cold and committed to decorating the house, I'm gonna do it right and you want something you can be proud of, don't you?" Russ replies, "I guess so.... think you might be overdoing it, Dad?" Clark retorts, "When was the last time I overdid anything? Come on, unravel these, you have to check every bulb." After that, a knotted ball of lights the size of a basketball is hauled out of one of the boxes. Russ looks at Clark, then at the tangled lights, and then back at Clark. This is the perfect summary of Vollmann's narrative. Vollmann is Clark, and we are Russ. "Well, sure it's a lot of work too, but if I'm out in the cold and committed to writing this book, I'm gonna do it right and you want something you can be proud of, don't you?" To which, we respond: "I guess so.... think you might be overdoing it, Bill?"

This is Pynchon's "Gravity Rainbow" without the gravity, but immense and verbose, funny and wild; diabolical, strange, wonderful, horrible, ghastly and all the adjectives and adverbs not yet put to the pen. Yet, and there is a yet - there are no guardrails, no signposts, only the open road barreling towards a vanishing point on the far horizon. The direction is nothing but a wave of a hand and a muttered, "over there somewhere," a lead foot on the gas, and a hundred exits, sideroads, and roadside attractions every mile that must be visited, glanced around, and a drink or two grabbed before moving onto the next one. Out there, what lies ahead is a computer program, this simulated reality, waiting for you and your memories of your ex-girlfriend Clara Bee, the hauntings of the immortal Big George, Mr. White's electricity, and the bugs. Yes, the bugs. For "the system has bugs. The bugs have a system. The system of the bugs is the bug in the system."

A brilliant debut novel!

Although Vollmann disowns it, this is a very well-crafted book. The way the story is told and the imagery used are particularly remarkable.

However, I do agree that the improvisation feeling of this book, with walls of text in abundance, could have been toned down a bit.

It took me a while to really get into the book.

I had to wade through the initial pages and get accustomed to the writing style.

But once I did, I was able to appreciate the depth and complexity of the story.

The characters are well-developed and the plot is engaging.

Overall, despite its flaws, this is a book that is worth reading.

It offers a unique perspective and challenges the reader to think differently.

I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something a little bit different in their reading.

I was dropped at 450. It felt like a sudden and unexpected event. I had no idea what was going on or why it happened. There I was, just minding my own business, and then all of a sudden, I found myself in this situation. I stood there, completely bewildered, looking around for any sign of an explanation. But there was nothing. The place was unfamiliar, and I had no clue how to get back to where I came from or what to do next. I just stood there, feeling lost and alone. The number 450 seemed to taunt me, as if it held some secret that I couldn't understand. I knew I had to figure something out, but for now, I was just at a loss.

This novel represents an extreme manifestation of my beloved literary movement. It has dawned on me that I'm truly glad that the authors I cherish within this movement possess the wisdom to exercise restraint.

"You Bright and Risen Angels" struck me as cartoonish, completely lacking any semblance of genuine emotion. The writing style gave the impression that Vollmann was attempting to flaunt his talent and imitate the masters of the genre.

The novel is overly long and seems to serve no real purpose. Only when I turned the final page did I experience a comforting sense of pure relief.

Is there anything redeeming about this novel? Well, perhaps there are a few闪光点 here and there, but nothing that justifies the arduous task of plowing through 635 pages.

In conclusion, this novel has left me with a rather disappointing impression, highlighting the importance of balance and restraint in literary works.

After approximately one hundred pages of convoluted, hallucinatory conditioning,

You Bright And Risen Angels suddenly takes a breath and reveals itself.

Vollmann's prose is both mutable and beautiful, as well as humorous.

It twists a profoundly sorrowful story about a man who is so completely devastated by the end of a relationship that he can only engage in endless fantasies about futile, absurd conflict.

It transforms this into a moebius-strip sci-fi tragi-comic action-adventure.

Or, as Vollmann, the author himself, describes it: "a cartoon".

This unique work of literature combines elements of different genres in a way that is both captivating and thought-provoking.

The reader is drawn into a world that is at once strange and familiar, filled with emotions and experiences that are both universal and unique.

Vollmann's writing style is truly one of a kind, and You Bright And Risen Angels is a testament to his talent and creativity.

Wow…and um, wow.

This simple expression of astonishment holds within it a world of emotions. It could be the result of seeing something truly remarkable, like a breathtaking natural wonder or a magnificent work of art.

Perhaps it's the reaction to an unexpected turn of events, a surprise that leaves one speechless. Or maybe it's the response to a moment of pure joy or excitement, such as achieving a long-awaited goal or experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Whatever the cause, those two words, "Wow…and um, wow," capture the essence of a moment that takes one's breath away and leaves an indelible mark on the heart and mind. They are a testament to the power of the unexpected and the beauty that can be found in the most ordinary of moments.

So the next time you find yourself at a loss for words, remember those two little words and let them speak volumes about the wonder and awe that you are feeling.

A book that presents a surreal and completely insane hallucination. There is a sort of battle going on between the blue orbs and the insects. It is rather digressive and overly obsessed with detail. At the start, it is exceptionally weird, but as one delves into it, a story gradually emerges. And although it may not be entirely comprehensible throughout, it still remains compelling.

Interestingly, there is a detailed table of contents that lists chapter headings for a'second volume' which, I assume, is not going to be forthcoming. However, these headings on their own make for a nice little story. I would have been inclined to give it 5 stars, but unfortunately, the book doesn't quite live up to something, whatever that may be. Nevertheless, whatever else it is, it is definitely something else entirely.

It's a book that defies easy categorization and leaves the reader with a sense of wonder and confusion, yet still manages to hold their attention. It's a unique and strange literary experience that is not easily forgotten.
