I was initially positively inclined. As an atheist, I was hoping for new perspectives on certain issues.

However, what I got were misogynistic drivel. The greatest criticism of Christianity made me feel closer to Christians during the reading of the book than to the author.

Nietzsche's ideas seemed to be full of such offensive and one-sided views. It was really disappointing.

His blatant misogyny was truly unacceptable. How could someone with such extreme and discriminatory thoughts be considered a great philosopher?

I expected more from him, but instead, I was left with a sense of disgust and dissatisfaction.

Fuck you, Nietzsche. Your ideas do not deserve my respect or admiration.

This was a reread, so some notes.

- It is way easier to read than all his other books, especially Zarathustra. This is definitely the best introduction to Nietzsche.

- His praise of the caste system is quite interesting. He takes the natural systems of hierarchy and enshrines them into a religion.

- His gendered approach to things is also notable. He hates Christianity partially because it is "effeminate", but praises Islam because it's "manly".

- He really has a strong aversion to Christianity. His tone is so over-the-top and polemical that it can be kind of funny at times.

- The coolest thing, however, is his psychological analysis of Christ. It is totally different from the traditional Christian view. Surprisingly, he has much more admiration for Jesus than one might think. To him, Christ was a man with an intense sensitivity to the world, unable to bear conflict or struggle. So he preached that all of mankind has the ability to find peace and joy internally (the kingdom of God is within you), not through any struggle with the world (meaning no resisting evil, no condemning others etc.). Nietzsche seems to admire this version of Christ, but he despises the version of Christ that most Christians worship, which he believes was invented by Saint Paul (whom he hates a great deal).

I couldn't handle his anger issues but it's cool though.

He has extremely strong emotions that are difficult to manage. It seems like he either has something that is overly exaggerated or is overly sensitive.

Now I realize what kind of influence Emil has on Choran's character.

Perhaps his anger issues are a result of some underlying problems or experiences. It's important to try to understand him better rather than just dismissing his behavior.

Maybe with some patience and communication, we can find a way to deal with his anger in a more positive and healthy way.

After all, everyone has their own challenges and it's our responsibility to be understanding and supportive.
