I stumbled upon this book in the ‘True Crime’ section of the library. My curiosity was piqued, and I was really interested in hearing her perspective. As I delved into the book, I found that she covered her history quite well. In fact, I did empathize with her to some extent. However, I have to admit that I struggled to treat this book without judging the narrator for her actions. I got frustrated very frequently, especially when I read about how she invited young, underage students to her home. As a so-called ‘responsible adult’, this seemed extremely irresponsible and inappropriate to me. The book reads kind of like a bad romance novel, with a little too much emotional floridity. The gist of it was that she and her boyfriend moved somewhere new, she was lonely, and their relationship wasn't good. Then, the attractive ‘bad boy’ hit on her, and she ended up ruining her career over it. Looking back, I wonder why I even read this book in the first place.
