This little piece of Wild Grapes made the entire read truly worthwhile for me.

It presented a profound thought that really struck a chord within. The words "I had not taken the first step in knowledge; I had not learned to let go with the hands, as still I have not learned to with the heart, and have no wish to with the heart - nor need, that I can see" made me pause and reflect.

It seems that the author is exploring the difference between the mind and the heart. While we may struggle to let go of things with our minds, such as cares that prevent us from sleeping at night, the author argues that there may not be a need to learn to let go with the heart in the same way.

This idea challenges the common assumption that we should strive to let go of all our emotions and attachments. Maybe there are some things that we are meant to hold onto with our hearts, even if it means a certain amount of pain or difficulty.

The passage leaves me with a sense of wonder and a desire to further explore the relationship between the mind and the heart. It makes me question my own beliefs and behaviors and consider whether I am truly living in a way that is in line with my deepest values and desires.

Overall, this little piece of writing has had a significant impact on me and has made me look at life from a different perspective.

I have to say, I expected to have a greater affinity for this book than I actually did. For years, I have been a devoted fan of some of Frost's poems. However, upon reading this book, I discovered that he has two very distinct styles.

One style is simply narrative, and I found that it didn't resonate with me as much. His narratives are predominantly conversational, and I found the line breaks within the stanzas to be rather distracting. Additionally, I have a preference for poetry that can paint a vivid picture in my mind, rather than just telling a story.

The second style is more lyrical, and I truly relished those poems. Here are a few of my favorite stanzas from some of them. The first is from a poem titled GHOST HOUSE:

I dwell in a lonely house I know
That vanished many a summer ago,
And left no trace but the cellar walls,
And a cellar in which the daylight falls,
And the purple-stemmed wild raspberries grow.

Another stanza that I particularly liked, from page 112, is from a poem called TWO TRAMPS IN MUD TIME:

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March.

I think this stanza reminds me a great deal of our current weather!

As you can see, the above stanzas really leave the reader with a mental image. Moreover, they both rhyme, although that isn't always a necessary element. In Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass, none of the poems rhyme, yet they are extremely lyrical and paint beautiful mental pictures. I find that I have a much greater preference for this type of poetry.

Some of my other favorite poems from this book include:

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
WIND AND WINDOW FLOWER
SAND DUNES
EVENING AT A SUGAR ORCHARD

Due to the overall disparity in the poems, I am awarding this book an overall score of 3, even though I would rate some of the individual poems as a 5.

My favorite poet is truly a remarkable individual. Each and every one of their poems is like a captivating story waiting to be discovered. The words seem to dance on the page, painting vivid pictures in my mind. It's simply beautiful how they can convey such deep emotions and complex ideas with just a few carefully chosen words.

Whether it's a poem about love, nature, or the human condition, I am always left in awe. The poet's ability to touch my heart and make me feel something profound is truly a gift. I find myself constantly returning to their works, eager to explore new meanings and interpretations.

In conclusion, my favorite poet holds a special place in my heart. Their poems are a source of inspiration and joy, and I am forever grateful for the beauty they have brought into my life.

I was truly impressed by the incredibly wide range of topics that Frost chose to write poems about.

Some of his poems have a unique charm as they read almost like short stories, vividly painting pictures in the reader's mind.

Interestingly, one of them even had a distinct Poe feel to it, which added an extra layer of mystery and allure.

In all honesty, when I initially bought this poetry collection, it was solely for the sake of "The Road Not Taken." However, to my pleasant surprise, there were quite a lot of other really good poems in this one.

Each poem seemed to offer a different perspective, a different emotion, or a different story.

It was like embarking on a journey through Frost's diverse and creative mind, and I found myself constantly engaged and intrigued by his words.

This collection truly showcases the depth and breadth of Frost's poetic talent, and I'm glad I took the chance to explore it beyond just that one famous poem.

Robert Frost once made a profound statement, saying that "Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words."

In Frost's remarkable poetry compilation, "Robert Frost's Poems," this sentiment truly comes to life as the thoughts within his works have indeed found their perfect expressions.

Throughout his long and illustrious lifetime, Frost has graced the literary world with hundreds of poems. Collectively, these poems serve as a means to explore and explain both the limitations and the profound expanses of human nature.

One of the notable characteristics of Frost's poetry is his ability to humble the roles of power while simultaneously enlightening readers about the value of individual power. In pieces such as "The Death of the Hired Man," there is an initial air of pride and judgment that is completely dissolved by the end, leaving readers with a new perspective.

Similarly, in "Paul's Wife," a short tale presented in verse about Paul Bunyan's wife, readers gain a deeper understanding of American values such as love, patriotism, and the ambition for life.

Through his masterful use of words, Frost has the remarkable ability to put emotions and unique mindsets into words, making his works as individual as each reader who engages with them.

I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. Although Frost is undoubtedly the best poet I have ever had the pleasure of reading, it can be quite challenging to sit down and read poetry for an extended period of time.

Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a thoughtful read to enjoy in quiet moments, or to anyone with an interest in getting into American-esque poetry in general. It is a collection that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The poems are somewhat cryptic mini stories.

They seem to be hiding their true meanings beneath a layer of mystery.

Maybe it's an intentional choice by the poet to make the readers think deeply and uncover the hidden messages.

However, this style is not my favorite.

I prefer poems that are more straightforward and easy to understand.

I like to be able to grasp the essence of the poem immediately without having to spend a lot of time deciphering it.

But I also understand that different people have different tastes in poetry.

Some may enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out the meaning of a cryptic poem.

It all comes down to personal preference.

Maybe I just need to be more open-minded and give this style of poetry a chance.

Who knows, maybe I'll discover something new and interesting.

Robert Frost's Poems was truly a captivating and relaxing read for me. In his poetry, Frost has an extraordinary ability to paint the most beautiful and vivid pictures of nature. The descriptions are so detailed and easy to follow that one can almost envision the scenes he portrays. However, Frost's talent extends beyond just depicting nature. His short stories of people and objects are equally engaging and resonate deeply with the reader. What really caught my attention was his unique perspective on mundane things. He could take something as ordinary as a patch of snow or a pile of leaves and transform them into the most beautiful and profound poetry. It is this ability to find beauty and meaning in the simplest of things that makes his work so special. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in books about nature or enjoys reading short stories that are both thought-provoking and beautifully written.

Love Frost,

His works are truly remarkable,

With a simplicity that touches the heart,

And a description of everyday life that is both vivid and real.

Frost has a unique way of seeing the world,

His words paint pictures that we can all relate to,

Whether it's the beauty of nature,

Or the struggles and joys of human existence.

His poems are like gentle whispers,

That speak to our souls and make us think,

About the things that matter most in life,

And the importance of finding meaning and purpose in the ordinary.

Love Frost,

For his ability to capture the essence of life,

In a way that is both profound and accessible,

His works will continue to inspire generations to come.

The more I read, the more it spoke to me.

It was as if each word on the page was a little messenger, carrying a unique message just for me.

The stories, the ideas, the emotions - they all seemed to jump out and grab my attention.

I found myself getting lost in the pages, completely absorbed in the world that the author had created.

It was a magical experience, one that I couldn't get enough of.

With each new book I picked up, I felt like I was embarking on a new adventure, learning something new about myself and the world around me.

Reading had become my escape, my refuge, my source of inspiration.

And I knew that as long as I continued to read, I would always have something to speak to my heart and soul.

Robert Frost is a renowned poet, yet very few of his poems actually give the impression of being traditional poems. Instead, most of them are presented as stories in stanza form.

Although he is famous for several well-known poems, I must admit that I am rather unimpressed by them.

Turning to the layout of the book, I have a particular gripe. I did not like the way the commentary suddenly appeared immediately after a poem ended. This might have been a space-saving measure in the book, but I would have much preferred if the commentary had been separated from the poem by even a small symbol. This simple addition would have clearly signaled to me that the poem had come to a conclusion and would have allowed me to fully experience the impact of the poem. Perhaps, if this had been the case, I would have had a more favorable opinion of some of the poems.

In conclusion, while Frost's work has its merits, the presentation in this particular book left something to be desired.

When I was in 6th grade, I had to memorize several poems, including The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost.

Most of those poems were forgotten almost immediately, but The Road Not Taken has always remained in my mind.

After reading this book, I have to admit that that particular poem is still my favorite.

However, I was truly shocked by the wide range of poem styles and subjects that Frost explored.

My personal preferences leaned towards those poems that were all about the woods and the countryside.

One of my favorite lesser-known poems that I read was A Time to Talk. I was drawn to it because of its unique rhyming style.

I have always had a great appreciation for poems that rhyme and have a distinct cadence. This is because those poems demonstrate the real effort put in by the author to ensure that they still convey the intended meaning while conforming to the format.

Once poets have become experts in this regard, they can then break the rules and introduce changes, just as Robert Frost does in A Time to Talk.

I would highly recommend this poetry collection to anyone. It serves as a wonderful introduction to poetry, especially for those who have an affinity for landscape paintings of the countryside, as Frost's poetry seems to frequently follow those themes.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this collection of poems.

However, I didn't manage to read it all in one go. Instead, I found that it was a book that required some time and effort to digest.

The fact that many of the poems have an introduction really helps in understanding them better, as it provides some background information.

Among the various poets featured, some of my favorite poems are by Frost. Although I don't like every single one of his works, there are definitely some that stand out and resonate with me.

Overall, I am extremely glad to have read this volume. It has not only given me a better appreciation for poetry in general but also a more in-depth understanding of Frost's writing style and themes.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in poetry and wants to explore the works of different poets.
