This book was sitting on a coffee table at a house where I was visiting my family.

Intrigued, I picked it up to have a look and ended up reading through the whole short book.

The illustrations in it are beautifully done. The combination of the pictures with the corresponding lines of poetry is almost magical.

It constantly pulled me in and led to a beautiful ending.

The way the illustrations enhanced the poetry made it a unique and captivating reading experience.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves beautiful art and inspiring poetry.

Oh, this is just lovely.

It features mostly black and white illustrations, with soft pastel enhancements gently added. The quick poem描绘了 a ride in nature on a snowy evening. There is a sled behind a careful horse, as the rider goes to fulfill promises to the denizens of the woods and far out friends. The stop for a snow angel endeared this greatly, just like the coat placed on his loyal steed. This is a gorgeous, heartwarming rendition of a favorite Frost poem. It is truly a treasure and a keepsake that I shall enjoy again and again. Susan Jeffers gave this poem such heart, and I thank her from the bottom of mine.

Her illustrations bring the words of the poem to life, adding a new dimension to the already beautiful piece. The combination of the simple yet evocative text and the charming illustrations makes this a must-have for any lover of poetry and art. I can't wait to share it with others and introduce them to this wonderful interpretation of Frost's work.

Absolutely beautiful, this PJ Lynch edition.

My favourite illustrator, if I'm forced to choose but one.

I have to express my gratitude to my GR friend Abigail for bringing up the one illustrated by Susan Jeffers.

It's available on OpenLibrary, and it's equally beautiful.

The poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" is truly a gem.

The illustrations by both PJ Lynch and Susan Jeffers add a whole new dimension to the already enchanting words.

This winter, it's highly recommended to give both editions a try.

The poem is so short that there's no reason not to read it several times.

Each reading can offer a new perspective and a deeper appreciation of its beauty and meaning.

So, don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of this classic poem.

Happy reading!

**Book Review**

This is a truly remarkable book that is written in the form of a poem.

It tells the story of a man and his horse who embark on a journey on a cold winter day. They travel many miles in their sleigh, first to the woods and then back to their cozy house in the village.

The narrative is both engaging and enchanting, painting a vivid picture in the reader's mind.

I have to say that I really loved this book. I believe it is an excellent choice for students to read as it provides a gentle introduction to the world of poetry.

Moreover, the inclusion of beautiful pictures further enhances the reading experience, making it even more captivating for young readers.

In a teaching context, I would definitely use this book when discussing poetry in an ELA class.

I think it serves as a great example of a poetic story, demonstrating the power and beauty of words.

After reading the book aloud to the students, I could use a white board to have a more in-depth discussion about poetry and its various elements, such as rhythm, rhyme, and imagery.

To further engage the students, I could also assign them to write a poem of their own and then share it with the class. This would not only help them to better understand poetry but also encourage their creativity and self-expression.

Overall, I highly recommend this book for both reading pleasure and educational purposes.

The words of the poem add an extra layer of depth and meaning, teaching children about the beauty and wonder of nature. I was truly overjoyed when I came across the reviews of this particular item. However, I must admit that this book failed to completely meet my expectations. As an enthusiast of this poem and a passionate horse lover, I did take pleasure in these illustrations. They were visually appealing and captured some of the essence of the story. Nevertheless, I couldn't help but notice that at times, the expressions on both the horse and human faces seemed to be inconsistent with the text. It was a bit disappointing as it disrupted the flow and connection that I was hoping to establish while reading. Despite this drawback, there were still some redeeming qualities in the book that made it worth exploring.

The classic poem is beautifully reproduced along with an artwork that depicts a young woman and her faithful, quiet horse.

The quality of the light shining through the snowclouds is superbly realised. On all sides, there is a dark evergreen forest and hushing drifts of snow.

While the rider is shown dismounting and seemingly embracing the weather, I personally would not do this. The reason is that the horse would need to reach a stable and be provided with a blanket. It shouldn't be forced to travel through deep snow, especially when carrying the weight of a rider. In my view, the poem can be seen as a rider pausing to check their path, ensuring that the horse is breathing comfortably and perhaps gently brushing the snow off their shoulders. Then, they would move along carefully, before the snow gets any deeper.

This piece will be great for primary school readers as it will assist them in memorising the poem. I had the opportunity to read this at the Dublin Book Festival. This is an unbiased review.

For some reason, I had expected a significantly larger number of words in this piece. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that along with the truly beautiful illustrations that accompany it, this poem offers an abundance of depth and meaning.

The illustrations seem to enhance and bring to life the emotions and imagery that the poem conveys. They add a visual dimension that allows the reader to further immerse themselves in the world that the poet has created.

Despite its relatively concise length, the poem manages to pack a powerful punch. Each word is carefully chosen and placed, contributing to the overall impact and effectiveness of the piece. It makes me appreciate that sometimes, less can truly be more.

Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the combination of the poem and the illustrations. They work together in harmony to create a unique and engaging experience that leaves a lasting impression.

The woods are truly a sight to behold. They are lovely, with their dark and deep mysteries that seem to call out to the adventurous soul.

However, as enchanting as they may be, I have certain promises that I must fulfill.

These promises are like a guiding light, leading me forward on my path.

And there are still miles and miles to go before I can lay my head down to sleep.

Yes, I have a long journey ahead of me, filled with challenges and opportunities.

But I am determined to keep going, to fulfill my promises and reach my destination.

For I know that with each step I take, I am getting closer to achieving my goals.

And even though the path may be long and arduous, I will not give up.

Because I have miles to go before I sleep, and I am ready to face whatever lies ahead.

Robert Frost is truly a prime example of how poetry can be done exceptionally well.

I'm not overly concerned with all that complex "metaphorical philosophy" aspect. However, what truly stands out about Robert Frost is his ability to get straight to the point with such precision.

Moreover, he accomplishes this using words that flow with absolute perfection. As you read his works, vivid images are effortlessly painted in your mind, transporting you to different worlds and experiences.

I first encountered Frost's poetry through school, which must have been a couple of years ago. It was that moment when I had my very first experience of actually enjoying poetry.

This particular poem has likely found a permanent place in my heart, and I am filled with eagerness to explore more of Frost's works, should I ever be given the opportunity.

His unique style and approach have left a lasting impression on me, and I look forward to delving deeper into the beautiful world of his poetry.
