So I do realize this book was written in the 1930s so that may be why I thought it was ridiculous. I found it contradicting. The author would say don't wait on luck or chance but put your faith in some higher power but not a deity. But that seems to be a type of luck or chance to me. Also, he mentioned all this research he has done but it is not cited anywhere. Maybe the most recent version would be better but I would not recommend this to ANYONE.

This got weird quickly. Some good points, but they're overshadowed by sexist and ableist points. The author is currently spending this chapter detailing an imaginary "cabinet" meeting he held with Lincoln and Napoleon, among others. No, thank you. Also, the author repeatedly stresses that it's rare for anyone to have self-insight, self-control over sexual impulses, or accomplish anything substantial before their 40s or 50s.

Al final me arrepentí de darle mérito extra y le puse 1 estrella. Este libro te tira dos cosas logicas y que podrias serte utiles pero al toque te lo arruina hablandote de cosas sinsentido. Me costo horrores terminarlo porque simplemente NO TIENE SENTIDO LO QUE PLANTEA

This book reads like those Facebook posts you see from acquaintances that got involved in a pyramid scheme and they have to constantly hype their product but everyone knows its trash. "With AQUALUNG 3000, I can BREATHE through my KNEECAP, which allows me up to 2,000 PERCENT more OXYGEN!!"

I'm sure there are things to be gained from this book....if you read it in 1950.

One more book I can't believe is written years ago (1937) because it feels right in time NOW.
He was so ahead of his time with his understanding of how changing ones mindset is everything! Of course, some people always have know and applied this in the past.

Also this is one book you can reread multiple times and learn more from it every time.

Of all the self-help books I've read in the recent times, this is the only one I dare to rate it 5 stars. It is indeed powerful enough to knock-out a boxer.

To make the most out of this book, one time reading is not enough, time to time you need to revisit and pick the chapter you're lacking in your personal life and re-read it. I'm planning to read this book every year at least one time. After reading this one, it's no surprise why most of the youtube channels and blogposts return this book in top search results when typed "list of best self-help books of all time".

This books strongly emphasises on principles which bring money conscious and transform your strong desire to it's monetary equivalent. Principles that point-out your weaknesses, helps you in correcting them and brings you money awareness.

I found few chapters to be complex in understanding, example: Mystery of Sex Transmutation. I'm not intelligent or matured enough to understand the meaning and philosophy tucked in it. But thanks to google and few youtube channels which gave me proper and clear explanation and I felt much better for making an effort to find out the meaning which is definitely essential to grow rich.

If you've come this far and pick-up a book with bold title then you should be definitely having a burning desire to live upto your potential and grow rich, I give you a resounding affirmation that this book will help you.

Не за друго, а защото е надушил в немотията и нещастието на хората ниша, която негови далновидни „колеги“ и до ден-днешен разработват доста успешно. Бих казала, че „Мисли и забогатявай“ е нещо като пълнометражна версия на великолепното стихотворение на Джани Родари „Продавач на надежда“, но без доброто писане и некористолюбивия замисъл.

Ще бъда по-конкретна, дори мога да ви направя услуга и да ви спестя четенето на 250 страници – невероятната „тайна“, която Хил предъвква в цялата си книга е да искате много силно да имате пари и да не се отказвате от преследването на целите си, гарнирано тук-там за разкош със зародиша на разни ню ейдж идеи за някакъв Висш разум (главната буква е на г-н Хил, не моя) и трансмутация на сексуална енергия. Цялата книга ми напомняше поредица недотам умели барабанни тушове, след всеки от който аха, да се разкрие някоя по-трезва и заземена мисъл, но не би. Накрая си излязох от представлението, уморена от дългото нагнетяване на напрежението да прочета нещо смислено и неудовлетворението му. Не ме разбирайте погрешно, не съм си представяла някой чародеен фокус от вида „Застанете по пълнолуние на Еньов ден на върха на скала, изпийте две шепи мълчана вода и ще забогатеете“, но пък някак очаквах малко повече от тая набедена Библия на книгите за самопомощ.

Не знам дали тук е моментът, но ще спомена, че където и да прочета колко велика държава е САЩ, как няма по земното кълбо друга като нея и именно там хората са свободни да постигнат де що блага има на този свят, получавам нещо като анафилактичен шок. Ако сте заинтересувани, ще прочетете дори сбита история на създаването на Съединените щати, която само доказва величието на въпросната държава и хората, които са я основали (ако съм пропуснала да отбележа, САЩ е най-прекрасната страна в света. Не, май това го казах). Освен това, ако също не знаете, зад всеки успял мъж стои по една скромна и неособено известна в обществото жена, защото къде да стои жената иначе, ако не ЗАД мъжа? Защо живее жената, ако не да помага на мъжа да се издигне до неподозирани висоти? Очевидно жени като Гъртруд Бел, Амелия Еърхарт и Ада Лавлейс не са направили особено впечатление на Наполеон Хил, та да даде някоя от тях за пример. Не си падам по радикалния феминизъм и космите по краката, но в края на тридесетте години на двадесети век в тези толкова напредничави Щати някои аспекти на мисълта са били на рудиментарно ниво. Не виждам защо г-н Хил, който счита себе си за открил Граала в печеленето на пари, не е могъл да преразгледа или поне премълчи тези си възгледи.

Истината е, че Наполеон Хил не успява твърде последователно да приложи да практика безценните съвети, които предлага. Бих казала, че е свършил доста повторяема и неособено иновативна работа за тези 20 години, през които уж синтезира опита на стотици преуспели хора в „Мисли и забогатявай“. Има няколко провалени бизнес начинания и друга неуспешна книга за самопомощ. Голямата депресия го удря неприятно след първия му масов успех, с което не се отличава особено от доста други хора в САЩ. Предполагам, че нещо се объркало и не е искал достатъчно силно да бъде богат в този период. Приходите от „Мисли и забогатявай“, написана през 1937 г., когато хората полекичка се окопитват от Голямата депресия, пък почти изцяло се озовават при вече бившата му съпруга (до голяма степен помогнала за написването и редакцията на въпросната книга). На брачния фронт Хил има няколко провалени брака, първият от които сключен при доста съмнителни обстоятелства. Сигурно е трудно човек едновременно да пише как се става богат и е хубаво да се поддържат хармонични отношения с околните, че и да си изпълнява напътствията. Препоръчвам за четене, ако искате да разберете от първа ръка защо няма какво да ви дадат такива книги.

I read 138 pages of what is basically filler nonsense. Look, believing in yourself is a good thing but economics are more complicated than simply that. Hill makes making millions of dollars into the same process as something more simple like talking to a women you like or losing weight. It’s really not the same thing. Maybe I’m wrong, but it all seems too simple to me.

The Mother of All Self-Help Crap

This book contains a few common-sense pieces of advice that should be obvious to most people. Unfortunately, they are pretty rare and buried under a big pile of nonsensical mumbo-jumbo.

First of all, this book is prisoner of its own time. Written in 1937, not so long after WWI and the 1929 crash, the author praises capitalism without reserve. Mr.Hill chooses his champions from the past but mostly from modern USA (Ford, Carnegie, Edison, repeat ad lib). The fact that some of those men are still living at the time of writing gives to this book a flavor of propaganda in favor of the mega-riches. I found the constant boot-licking towards Mr.Hill's contemporary patros really irritating. For example, the author explains how national heroes such as Henry Ford differentiate themselves from other billionaires by being great benefactors to the rest of humanity. One year after the publication of this book, the same Henry Ford received the Grand Cross of the German Eagle from Nazi officials. So much for the humanism of this great person.

Secondly, this book is really US-centered. Unfortunately, it's centered around the worst of the US tradition. In short, America is great, the rest of the world is crap. Reliance on religion and pseudo-scientific reasoning is just laughable to an educated person. Some of the step-by-step recipes for "getting rich" a really similar to miracle elixirs from the Old west era.

Thirdly, the damage this book did to wisdom and morals doesn't stop at the last page. This book inspired generations of fake doctors and other bullshit-sellers up to now. In fact it cured me completely of this type of literature. Even the way the author passes his message sounds like a Ponzi scheme, always speaking of his "secret" that the reader will know after reading the book and advertising it to other victims.

All in all, it was a really tedious reading. The fact that so many people give it 5 stars is worrying for the state of our modern society. It seems that gurus have a bright future ahead.

"A QUITTER NEVER WINS – AND – A WINNER NEVER QUITS."

Think and Grow Rich, in my opinion, is a one of a kind book, and offers readers a completely new paradigm for achieving one's life desires, whatever they may be.

When I picked up this book, I did not expect it to differ much from the other self-help books in terms of principles to follow. But how amazingly the author had organized this guide? what an incredible amount of information he had analyzed in presenting these principles?

I don't imagine there are many other books which required and carried out more thorough research than this book. The time you invest on reading this incredible guide will no doubt open your mind to a brand new reality of thinking. It is no wonder that this books is at top of almost all the 'best ever self-help books.' I will not miss re-reading this at least once a year.

One of the best books I've ever read. It kept me thinking the whole time about the ideas that I've encountered in this book. It talks about the new philosophy of enlightenment with practical applications of it.
The book talks mainly about accumulating riches, but it could be replaced by any other gaol that one desires.
This book will probably affect your life greatly if you're not already familiar with the new age of enlightenment.
If I have to criticize it, it'll be about one thing only: that the author used too many stories of famous, successful people; when he could maximally use two to prove the same point. Other than that; it's a great book on all levels and I highly recommend it.

P.S. it's a super positive book; hence, not recommended for sad people.

Era un po' che non scrivevo una recensione mettendoci il cuore. Sono un po' incasinato tra il lavoro e lo scrivere un libro mio. Tra una cosa e l'altra sono però riuscito a leggere questo libricino. Vi racconto com'è andata.

Mentre stavo preparando l'esame di Statistica Bayesiana in magistrale, ero matto per questo genere di cose. Credetemi o meno, ma a me sembrava di aver trovato qualcosa di incredibile. Ve la faccio breve: dato che in quel periodo mi sembrava di dover fare mio il più possibile quel corso, mi settavo ogni sera un timer da 5 minuti in cui mi ripetevo "In quest'esame prenderò il massimo, in quest'esame prenderò il massimo, in quest'esame prenderò il massimo". Roba da fottuti di testa, vero? Non è esattamente quello che un uomo di scienza farebbe per far succedere qualcosa.

Da uomo con due lauree in materie scientifiche, lasciate che ora vi dica una cosa: so bene cosa state pensato. Davvero. Quando non hai mai letto un libro non-fiction, i titoli pompati tipo questo possono essere davvero fuorvianti. Potrebbero indurti a pensare che stai per leggere qualche stronzata inutile che è stata scritta solo per vendere, che è il motivo per cui hai quel libro in mano. E' stato così bravo a vendere ma così schifoso nell'aiutarti. Considerate inoltre che se il libro di cui stiamo parlando ti parla di come diventare ricco trasformando un'idea in qualcosa di tangibile, senza considerare nessun altro fattore coinvolto, ma il vostro puro desiderio ardente, lasciate che metta le mie due lauree in un angolino (perché bruciarle pare brutto) e lasciate che vi dica che persino un fottuto pesce rosso sa che avete appena letto una marea di stronzate.

Questo libro è stato scritto negli anni 30. Regà, nei fottuti anni 30. Se ve lo siete immaginato in questo modo molto da boom economico, probabilmente rimarrete delusi dal sapere che io mi sono sentito invece così durante l'esperienza di lettura. Sembrava molto come se qualcosa stesse succedendo alla mia testa. Mi ha dato l'impressione che le mie connessioni neurali fossero state mappate e ricollegate in modo corretto. Questo perché il libro racconta storie vere di persone che hanno trasformato un'idea in un ossessione, e con gli strumenti corretti hanno realizzato cose incredibili. Fondare una società miliardaria, raccogliere un milione di dollari in meno di una settimana. Sapete, le classiche cose che succedono dopo aver letto un libro. E mentre le mie due lauree urlano dall'angolino in cui le ho messe per cercare di farmi ragionare, inizio a sentire qualcosa di strano che mi frulla per la testa. E' da malati mentali pensare che qualcosa del genere sia possibile, ma se avete gia letto una delle mie recensioni prima, sapete che di solito lascio la roba figa in fondo.

Riprendo le fottute lauree dall'angolino. Quella della magistrale è stampata su una sorta di finta pergamena. C'è scritto "con Lode". Non che l'abbia fatto per impressionare le tipe alle feste (mi ci immaginate lanciando un "Hey piccola, che cosa stai bevendo? Ti va di farti offrire un giro da un laureato con lode in statistica epidemiologica?" - non avrebbe molto senso). Ma mi riporta alla mente quel periodo da fuori di testa in cui settavo il timer e mi ripetevo che avrei preso il massimo a quell'esame. Dove cercavo di farlo diventare un ossessione, per alimentare il mio desiderio ardente.

E indovinate un po' com'è andata a finire.
