Wow, this book was an absolute delight and a significant departure from the first one, and in the best possible way. I found myself completely engrossed in it, liking it far better than its predecessor. The story was incredibly riveting, pulling me in from the very beginning and keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout. We were introduced to a diverse cast of characters, some truly great and others not so much. The antagonist in this installment was seriously a true sociopath, making Clay's psychotic tendencies seem almost mild in comparison.

Speaking of Clay, I adored seeing him and Elena in their crazy yet functional relationship. Their chemistry was palpable, and their penchant for having sex in the most random places was not only a reflection of their personalities but also their super close connection.

As usual, Clay was a bit of a wild card, not always the nicest guy, but I could sense that he was gradually becoming more in tune with the people around him. Elena, on the other hand, was much more in touch with her humanity, which proved to be both a blessing and a curse. When she was kidnapped and had to endure her own imprisonment, as well as deal with the fates of others she felt responsible for, her humanity shone through in the most poignant ways.

I also loved meeting the new characters, including the witches, vampires, and my personal favorite, the half-demons. Xavier and Adam were particularly great additions to the story, and I thought Paige seemed like a decent character as well. I'm really looking forward to reading her book and hoping that Adam makes an appearance in it!

For me, the main downside was that I felt one part of the story kind of dragged. Her imprisonment seemed to last way too long, and I found myself getting a bit impatient. However, this was a minor quibble in an otherwise highly entertaining read. Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging paranormal romance.

Pretty damn good.

At times, it is disturbing and heart-wrenching. I had a liking for Paige, Ruth, Savannah, and the rest of the new characters.

I am looking forward to reading the books that are centered on Paige. She sounds really interesting and fun to read about.

So far, as of book two of the Women of the Otherworld series, I am pretty damn impressed. The plots are interesting, although a bit gory at times. The supernatural world is great.

I really enjoy Clay and Elena's relationship. I hope we will see them in Paige's books.

I do know that we go back to Elena in book 5 or book 6 and I am looking forward to that as well.

All things considered, the female characters in this series - Paige, Elena, Savannah, and Ruth - have been amazing. I am definitely excited to see more of some of them.

4 stars.

I truly adored this book.

It stands as my absolute favorite within the series up until now.

The plot was simply captivating, and the little twists that Kelley Armstrong incorporated were just brilliant.

I was overjoyed to see that she and Clay are reunited.

However, I despise the fact that the billionaires are abducting supernaturals and conducting experiments on them.

I also loathe the situation where Elena is captured.

Thankfully, I love how she manages to escape and resolve the issue.

I would without a doubt recommend this series to anyone and everyone.

It deserves a solid 10 stars!!!

This book has it all - romance, mystery, action, and supernatural elements.

It keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down.

So, if you're a fan of the supernatural genre, this series is a must-read.

I first began reading this ebook in October or November 2011. However, I set it aside around the 40% mark as it failed to capture my interest at that time. As part of a pick-it-for-me challenge, I decided to give it another chance by listening to the audiobook, and eventually finished it.

"Stolen" is the second installment in Kelley Armstrong's "Women of the Otherworld Series". When I read the first book, "Bitten", I was immediately drawn to Elena's internal conflict between living with the pack and living as a human. Her history and relationship struggles with Clayton also added to the allure of the story. In "Stolen", the focus is mainly on Elena as a captive, and while I missed the pack, I still enjoyed getting to know Elena better as she embraced her role in the pack and her life as a werewolf.

Overall, I didn't enjoy "Stolen" as much as "Bitten", but I still liked it and plan to continue the series. If you're a fan of the urban fantasy genre with a strong female werewolf lead, then I highly recommend giving this series a try.

My favorite quote from the book is: “Murder? You mean he's dead?” “No. He's resting comfortably,” I said. “People always sleep best with their heads at a ninety-degree angle. He looks comfortable, doesn't he?”

The "Women of the Otherworld Series" consists of 13 installments, including "Bitten", "Stolen", "Dime Store Magic", "Industrial Magic", "Haunted", "Broken", "No Humans Involved", "Personal Demon", "Living with the Dead", "Frostbitten", "Waking the Witch", "Spell Bound", and "Thirteen". Each book offers a unique and exciting adventure in the world of the Otherworld.

This is the seventh girl-werewolf book I've read in the last seven days.

I swear I didn't plan this. It's just that when it comes to books, I have no sense of self-preservation.

I think I'll need werewolf detox after this, although I'm not entirely sure what that would entail.

There's also someone's autobiographical account of the summer they spent in Ireland, learning to love the peace and quiet.

Now, let's talk about Elena. She's an unreliable narrator and a sociopath, although she doesn't know it.

She claims that, unlike her lover Clayton, she can't kill without remorse, but this is a total lie.

She simply performs a slightly different calculus than Clayton when deciding whether or not to kill someone, and leans towards the 'not' side slightly more often.

However, since she values fitting in and is aware that humans generally frown upon cold-blooded murder, she would prefer not to be a murderer.

This is why she hesitates to kill.

Okay, the book doesn't explicitly state that, but that's my interpretation, and I'm sticking with it.

In this book, Elena is wolfnapped by a typical group of unhinged scientists and crazy billionaires.

Despite the trying circumstances, she manages to rescue herself.

There's a warning for threats of sexual violence and intermittent skeeziness.

Also, this is the book where the reader first meets Paige, who comes across as rather annoying.

Interestingly, this might be why I never really liked Armstrong's books where Paige is the protagonist.

I have never despised a villain as much as Tyrone Winsloe. He wasn't the type of "evil" that aims to destroy the world and such. No, he was simply a sick, spoiled, rich, and pervy bastard. Whatever that truly means. Truly, I relished the end of the book to such a great extent. Those scenes - the oak tree, Elena, and Winsloe hanging from her hands - it was absolute perfection. He just desires to have a good time hunting and experimenting with the lives of others simply because he has the means to do so. He's an asshole who believes he can achieve everything with money.

Elena can truly kick ass!!! She is my favorite female werewolf.

“Who cared whether you could change motor oil when you could snap a rottweiler’s neck in 2.8 seconds? Now there was a practical skill.”

See?? She can definitely kick ass!!!

And Clayton... I just can't get enough of him!!! Oh, darling... he's the best werewolf ever. (No offense to Vane and Fang Kattalakis, Adam Hauptman, Charles and Samuel Cornick, or Derek...)

The story of Elena and Clayton is one that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Elena's strength and determination are truly inspiring, while Clayton's charm and loyalty make him irresistible. The way they interact with each other and the other characters in the book is both entertaining and engaging. I can't wait to see what else this series has in store for us.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good paranormal romance with strong characters and a thrilling plot. It's a must-read for fans of the genre.

I actually preferred this book to the first one, but that doesn't necessarily mean I liked it a great deal.

In this installment, Elana and the Pack make a discovery about the other supernaturals that inhabit this world - vampires, witches, half-demons, and more. However, they soon find themselves being hunted by a group of humans who have the intention of capturing and studying these supernatural creatures before ultimately hunting them down. Naturally, Elana unfortunately falls into their clutches and has to endure a period of imprisonment. But, as is often the case, there is an obligatory ending where, spoiler alert, Elana and most of her friends manage to survive.

Overall, this book was a bit of a disappointment for me. The only reason I didn't dislike it as much as the first one was because Elana was separated from her friends for a significant portion of the story, which meant her rather tedious relationship with Clay wasn't as prominent. However, Elana really didn't make much of an impression during her captivity. Despite being a supposed big, bad werewolf, she didn't manage to break out on her own and instead spent a lot of time just twiddling her thumbs and waiting for rescue. I almost DNF (Did Not Finish) this book several times, but I forced myself to push through.

I had initially planned to read the other books in this series that feature the other characters, but I've since changed my mind. The only character who I still feel a shred of interest in is Jeremy, but I highly doubt he's going to be the main character in any of the further books. So, these books will be taken off my shelves and I hope they end up with another reader who will be able to appreciate them more than I did.

If you didn't like the first book, chances are you probably won't like this one either. But if you did like the first book, then you probably will enjoy this one.

Elena is confronted by two witches who are aware that she is a werewolf. They urge her to attend a supernatural meeting to discuss a perilous common enemy who is abducting supernatural beings. However, Elena and her pack disregard the warnings. Soon enough, she finds herself incarcerated in a private laboratory where supernaturals are experimented on and killed when they are deemed useless. The question remains: can the inmates discover a means of escape, or will Jeremy's pack arrive in time to save her?

I have a penchant for strong female characters, and Elena is a prime example. She is tough, likable, and intelligent, precisely what I desire in a heroine. Although she is not flawless, being impatient and making errors, that is precisely what endears her to me. Even supernatural girls have their flaws! Moreover, the wolves return for another installment. (I'm a huge Jeremy enthusiast!) We get to witness a different facet of the relationship between Clay and Elena, which was rather chilly in the first book. I have a much greater appreciation for Clay now that his character has developed somewhat, although it is evident that he is the true monster in the pack, lacking in human qualities compared to the others.

We are also introduced to other intriguing characters who will be seen throughout the series. Ruth and Paige are related witches. Ruth is a fellow prisoner, attempting to assist the young captive witch Savannah in learning her craft while imprisoned, while Paige is part of the outside rescue team. I was fond of Adam, the half-demon, with his witty sarcasm, and Cassandra, the vampire who has no morals or conscience whatsoever, which led to some fascinating scenes. Paige, however, could be quite irritating at times with her bitchy attitude.

The plot is highly exciting and keeps you engaged until the very end. I appreciate the fact that it is entirely distinct from "Bitten," where the pack battled rogue werewolves, and now the enemy is human. I was never quite certain what to make of Sandra, whether she would prove to be a friend or foe, and I definitely did not anticipate what transpired with her. As for Rich Psycho boy... well, didn't you just wish Clay would devour him? That was precisely what I longed to see in extremely gory detail! I loathed the guy, which indicates that the author did an excellent job in creating his character.

Having the heroine confined for the majority of the book and yet maintaining the momentum of the plot throughout speaks volumes about the author's skill. I was captivated by this book from the outset. You had the tense scenes where things went awry in the compound, the terrifying life-or-death hunts organized by the rich psychopath, Sandra's insane decisions, and the brilliant grand finale. I have read this book several times already, and I love it more with each reading. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite book series.

The second installment in the series commences with Elena Michaels, the sole remaining female werewolf. She is eventually enticed to the clandestine compound of Tyrone Winsloe, an Internet billionaire. He is financing scientific inquiries into other races and their supernatural abilities, and it is rather eerie.

Although Elena found herself in the TSTL (too stupid to live) category on several occasions, she did display certain skills in this narrative and rose a notch in my estimation. Elena employed her wits and knew when to yield when confronted with a dominant personality, which was fitting. The action was thrilling and rife with tension. I had great difficulty setting this book aside. There are numerous characters where it is impossible to discern whether they are friend or foe, rendering it even more captivating.

I was disheartened by the first book, but this one redeemed the character in my eyes. My absolute favorite scenes are when she is in wolf form with Clay, permitting herself to be emotionally exposed to a character who has more than demonstrated his worth to her. I am eagerly anticipating continuing this series.

In my opinion, there has been a big improvement from the first book, Bitten.

The story is filled with lots of exciting action that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

Moreover, new and likeable characters have been introduced, adding more depth and variety to the narrative.

What really stood out for me was the villain, who managed to evoke pure rage inside me.

The author did an excellent job of creating a character that was so despicable and yet so captivating.

Overall, I would rate this book an A+. It has exceeded my expectations and has become one of my favorite reads.

I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us in the next installment.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good paranormal romance or action-packed adventure.

BOOKCITEMENT LEVEL 4.3/5

I truly enjoyed this installment. In fact, I found it even more engaging than the first book. One of the aspects I really appreciated was that we didn't have to endure that rather slow process of being introduced to the world all over again. Instead, we got to explore and experience the expansion of the Otherworld in this book, which was truly fascinating. The author did a great job of building on the foundation laid in the first book and taking the story to new heights.

I'm really excited and pumped to continue reading the series. I can't wait to see what other adventures and revelations await in the upcoming books. However, I must admit that Ty Winsloe is just awful. His character really grated on my nerves and I hope there are some significant changes in his development in the future.

Overall, despite my reservations about Ty Winsloe, I still highly recommend this book to fans of the genre. It's a great read that will keep you hooked from start to finish.
