3.5 stars.

I had high hopes for this, and I truly wanted to like it more than I actually did.

The problem was that there was an excessive amount of description. It felt as if the author was spending too much time painting a detailed picture of the setting and the characters' appearances, rather than advancing the story through engaging dialog.

As a result, I never really felt fully involved in the story. It was like I was on the outside looking in, unable to form a deep connection with the events and the characters.

Perhaps if there had been a better balance between description and dialog, I would have had a more immersive experience and been able to rate it higher.

Nevertheless, it still had some redeeming qualities, but the lack of engaging dialog was a significant drawback for me.

Ugh...

I just couldn't bring myself to finish this book. It was such a struggle from the very beginning. The story didn't seem to grip me or draw me in like I had hoped. The characters felt flat and uninteresting, and I found it hard to connect with them on any level. The plot was also rather dull and predictable, lacking any real excitement or surprises. I tried to push through, thinking that maybe it would get better as I went along, but unfortunately, that was not the case. With each passing page, my enthusiasm waned, and I eventually gave up. It's a shame really, because I had such high expectations for this book. But sometimes, no matter how hard you try, a book just doesn't click.

I guess I'll have to move on and look for something else that will capture my attention and keep me engaged from start to finish.
