For me, poetry cannot be divided into good and bad. The division of poetry is rather like this: the kind that reaches you and the kind that doesn't.

At the end of this rather long introduction, I wanted to convey that Plath's poetry doesn't reach me at all. I don't feel any emotion, interest, or admiration because it simply doesn't strike a chord with my sensitivity.

Edit: I give it two weak stars. That's it.

This perspective might seem a bit harsh, but everyone has their own taste and connection with different forms of art. While some may be deeply moved by Plath's works, for me, it fails to have that impact.

Perhaps it's because her style or themes don't resonate with my personal experiences or emotions. However, I still respect the fact that many people find great value and beauty in her poetry.

After all, art is subjective, and what one person may love, another may not. It's this diversity of opinions that makes the world of literature so rich and interesting.

Breathtaking.

Her words have the power to haunt and yet also make one yearn.

Plath is acutely aware of herself in ways that I have never before encountered.

It's truly remarkable.

I find myself simply in awe of her self-awareness and the depth with which she explores her inner world.

Her writing is like a window into a soul that is both tortured and beautiful.

Every sentence seems to carry a weight of emotion and a truth that is both painful and liberating.

Reading her work is an experience that leaves me breathless and longing for more.

It makes me question my own self-awareness and the ways in which I perceive and understand myself.

Plath's ability to convey such complex emotions and ideas is a testament to her genius as a writer.

She has left an indelible mark on the literary world, and her work will continue to inspire and move readers for generations to come.

The article "Magnifiquement bien écrite, trois femme et à un garçon sans père étaient mes préférées !!" is already quite interesting.

It could be expanded as follows: "This story was magnificently well-written. There were three women and a fatherless boy, and they were my favorites.

The three women had distinct personalities and played important roles in the story. One was kind-hearted and always ready to help others. Another was strong and independent, facing challenges with courage. The third was intelligent and resourceful, using her wits to solve problems.

The fatherless boy, on the other hand, was a source of both sadness and inspiration. Despite his difficult circumstances, he remained optimistic and full of hope. His journey of growth and self-discovery was truly touching.

Together, these characters created a rich and engaging narrative that kept me hooked from beginning to end."

I wanted flowers, I just wanted to raise my hands to the sky and be completely empty. How liberating it is, you can't even imagine - the peace is so great that it startles, and it doesn't ask for anything; a name tag, some small items. Those around it finally closed; I can imagine how they close their mouths like conditional loaves.

Tulips are first of all too red, they hurt me. Through the wrapping paper, I could hear them breathing lightly, through their white skirts, like a terrible suction. Their red chatters my wound, it responds. They are cunning: they seem to be floating, although they are pressing me, they bother me with their sharp tongues and colors, dozens of red lead weights around my neck.

No one watched me before, now I am watched. The tulips turn towards me and the window behind me, where the light slowly expands and slowly fades once a day, and I see myself, flat, laughable, a paper silhouette between the eyes of the sun and the eyes of the tulips, and I have no face, I have wanted to disappear invisibly. The life-loving tulips are eating my oxygen.

"Dying is an art, like everything else. I do it exceptionally well." This profound and thought-provoking statement from her prose in Lady Lazarus has an undeniable allure that compels me to read and re-read it time and time again.

It is truly wonderful how a few words can encapsulate such a complex and powerful concept. The idea that dying can be considered an art form challenges our conventional notions and forces us to look at this inevitable aspect of life from a different perspective.

Sylvia Plath's use of language in this piece is masterful. Her choice of words and the way she constructs the sentence create a sense of mystery and intrigue. It makes me wonder what she means by "doing dying exceptionally well."

Perhaps she is referring to the way she approaches life, with a certain intensity and authenticity that allows her to face the idea of death without fear. Or maybe it is a commentary on her own struggles and the way she has come to terms with her own mortality.

Whatever the interpretation, this line from Lady Lazarus is a testament to Plath's genius as a writer. It has the power to move and inspire, and it continues to resonate with readers long after her death.

This experience really did a number on me.

It had a profound impact on my life and emotions. I found myself facing numerous challenges and difficulties that I had never anticipated before.

The stress and pressure became almost overwhelming at times. I felt like I was constantly on the verge of breaking down.

However, through it all, I also learned a great deal about myself. I discovered my inner strength and resilience that I never knew I had.

I learned to persevere and not give up easily. This experience has made me a stronger and more determined person.

Although it was a tough and trying time, I am grateful for it as it has shaped me into who I am today.

I am still raw, inexperienced and unpolished.

I say I may be back, but you know that these words are just lies.

Lies are often used to deceive, to give false hope or to avoid the truth.

Even in your so-called Zen heaven, where peace and enlightenment are supposed to reign, we shan't meet.

Perhaps this is because our paths are meant to diverge, or maybe it's because there are forces at work that we cannot understand.

Whatever the reason, the fact remains that we are on different trajectories, and no amount of wishful thinking or false promises will change that.

So, I will continue on my journey, raw and all, and see where it takes me.

And you can do the same in your Zen heaven, or wherever it is that you choose to go.

I originally embarked on this with the thought that it would be a rapid read. More often than not, poetry can be such. However, these particular poems were densely filled with an abundance of elements. It feels as though each and every one of them could potentially have its very own Socratic Seminar dedicated to it. The author employs alliteration with such frequency, yet blends it in a manner that is simply beautiful. I would truly relish the opportunity to engage in a discussion about some of these within a literature circle. It has made me nostalgic for those college English days. Without a doubt, it is most definitely worth a read!!

The editor for this collection of poems, Diane Middlebrook, was my professor in college.

We spent a significant amount of time studying Plath together. Since then, Plath has emerged as my favorite poet.

I firmly believe that this particular collection serves as an excellent representation of her entire body of work.

Plath often presents a sense of detachment, constantly striving to either establish, break, or comprehend a connection.

Even in her darkest moments, when she seems to be reaching out to the reader from the deepest recesses of her writing (as is the case in my personal favorite, "The Disquieting Muses"), there are instances when the reader can truly empathize with her.

This empathy, however, can be both startling and frightening.

It forces us to confront the raw emotions and complex thoughts that Plath so skillfully conveys through her poetry.

Her words have the power to draw us in and make us experience her world, even if it is a world filled with pain and turmoil.

Overall, this collection is a testament to Plath's genius and her ability to create works that resonate deeply with readers.

I'm not entirely certain if I'm being overly morbid, but it seems nearly impossible for me to peruse any of Sylvia Plath's works without my thoughts inevitably turning to her tragic suicide. I suspect it's because her poetry already exudes such a profound darkness. And when one becomes aware that she endured the torment of depression and ultimately took her own life, it adds yet another layer of complexity and poignancy to her words.

That being said, I did find myself truly appreciating the melancholy ambiance that permeates this collection of poems. Each and every sentence is a thing of beauty, crafted with such evocative language that it has the power to transport the reader into the depths of her emotions. It's truly remarkable to think about just how gifted she was. It's almost unfathomable that she was only 30 years old when she left this world. Interestingly, the age of 30 was mentioned on several occasions throughout the book, which leads me to wonder if that particular number held some special significance for her.

Perhaps it was a milestone that she had hoped to reach, or maybe it was a number that symbolized something deeper within her psyche. Whatever the case may be, it serves as a reminder of the tragic brevity of her life and the profound impact that her work has had on generations of readers.
