This is truly an all-round excellent and exceptionally good short story collection. It mainly consists of horror stories, with a touch of thriller and sci-fi elements scattered here and there.

Some particular standouts include "Blue World", which is a novella-sized story and arguably just perfect. "Yellowjacket Summer", "He'll Come Knocking at Your Door", "Nightcrawlers", "Doom City", "Something Passed By", and "Yellachile's Cage" are also very good.

I will never understand how Robert McGammon is not a more popular and easily recognizable name, on par with the likes of Stephen King and Dan Simmons.

I also listened to three extra stories on Audible that are not in my old secondhand paperback edition. Among the three, I liked "Strange Candy" the most. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to my reading experience.
