I'm a huge fan of Robert R. McCammon.

Ever since I delved into his Matthew Corbett books, I've been on an eager quest to devour his other literary treasures.

And let me tell you, this particular work is truly one of his very best.

The way he weaves his stories, creating vivid worlds and complex characters, is simply masterful.

His writing style draws you in from the very first page and keeps you hooked until the very end.

Whether it's the thrilling plotlines, the atmospheric settings, or the richly developed characters, McCammon never fails to deliver.

This book is a testament to his talent and creativity, and I can't recommend it highly enough to fellow readers.

If you're looking for a great read that will transport you to another world and keep you on the edge of your seat, then look no further than this masterpiece by Robert R. McCammon.

I absolutely adored Gone South.

It not only features some of the most captivating characters that I have encountered in a long time. The bounty hunters, in particular, will remain etched in my mind for a very long while!

Moreover, it is a compact, concise, and superbly told story that endeavors to accomplish numerous things, and miraculously, it succeeds.

Gone South skillfully weaves together elements such as war trauma, illness, physical deformity, impersonation, humor, the quest, and crime drama. Throughout the narration, none of the aforementioned aspects suffers from a lack of attention or undermines the cohesiveness of the plot.

Novels of this caliber are precisely the reason why I have a deep affection for McCammon's work. I simply wish that he had continued to produce offerings similar to this one!

This is a story that revolves around desperate characters. There is a poisoned ex-marine who is on the run after killing a man in self-defense.

Hot on his trail are two bounty hunters. One is a refugee from a freak show, while the other is a fading overweight Elvis Presley impersonator.

Adding to the mix is a girl who is desperately seeking a legend. All of them have gone astray in one way or another.

The story unfolds as their paths intersect, their destinies unfold, and their lives are changed forever.

This is a story that encompasses guilt, injustice, cruelty, pain, suffering, as well as hope, love, and freedom.

It delves into the idea of losing oneself in the face of atrocities, both natural and man-made, and ultimately finding oneself and answering the call of destiny.

Although this story is thrilling and exhilarating, it will also touch something deep within your heart. It will take you on a journey of a lifetime.

Even the foreword of this book has the power to shatter your soul.

It was hell's season, and the air smelled of burning children.

This powerful opening line immediately grabs the reader's attention and sets a dark and disturbing tone for the entire story.

Another really good Mccammon Book. The first line hooked me, and once I started reading it, I couldn't stop.

Mccammon has a talent for creating vivid and engaging worlds that draw the reader in and keep them on the edge of their seats.

The story unfolds with a sense of urgency and mystery, as the reader is forced to confront the horrors that lurk within.

The characters are well-developed and complex, each with their own motives and desires.

As the story progresses, the reader is taken on a wild ride of emotions, from fear and anxiety to hope and redemption.

Overall, this is a must-read book for fans of horror and mystery.

Mccammon's writing is top-notch, and this book is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who reads it.
