This book is truly fascinating!

Just by flipping through its pages, it fills me with an intense desire to embark on a global adventure. What I really appreciate is the abundance of vivid photos展示了各种充满异国情调的地方, along with a comprehensive list of hotels, restaurants, and other attractions, complete with their addresses and phone numbers. This makes it extremely convenient for readers to book their accommodations and navigate their way around.

The sections dedicated to each country are meticulously organized by region, ensuring that everything is easily accessible.

Not only is this book visually appealing, but it is also highly useful and brimming with valuable information.

One particular place that has caught my attention is the Welsh town of Hay-on-Wye, which is renowned for its dozens of bookshops. The concept of having so many bookshops in one place, along with an entire community dedicated to the love of books, is simply wonderful.

This guide is filled with numerous such hidden gems, which will surely inspire you to dust off your passport and book a plane ticket to explore the amazing places around the world.

Disclaimer: I was provided with a copy of this book by the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review. However, all the opinions expressed here are my own genuine thoughts and have not been influenced by anyone.

If I were to ask Google, it would provide much more in-depth and accurate information than this.

Google is an extremely powerful search engine that has access to a vast amount of data from all over the world.

It uses advanced algorithms and technologies to analyze and understand the user's query, and then presents the most relevant and useful results.

Whether you are looking for information on a specific topic, trying to solve a problem, or simply curious about something, Google can be a great resource.

It can provide not only text-based information but also images, videos, and other types of media.

So, the next time you need to find something out, don't hesitate to ask Google.

I was rather underwhelmed by the book.

It does offer some good ideas, especially if you're in the process of planning a trip to a particular place and you're looking for a quick inspiration without having to go out and purchase Frommer's. However, that's basically what this book amounts to - a very general travel guide.

There are numerous great aspects that have been left out, and yet, there are also some great things that are included. I view it more as a coffee-table book. It's not something that you would actually take the time to sit down and read from cover to cover.

Rather, it's a book that you might flip through when you're looking for a bit of light reading or some visual inspiration for your next travel adventure.

Overall, while it has its merits, it doesn't quite live up to the expectations one might have for a comprehensive and engaging travel guide.

I won this as my free book from my library's summer reading program two summers ago.

I didn't really read the entire book thoroughly. Instead, I skimmed through it with my mother, who is an avid traveler and has been to many places.

Her rating for this book would be three stars. The reason is that out of the 1000 places mentioned in the book, many are not the typical must-see travel destinations. In fact, a lot of them are places that most travelers wouldn't necessarily choose to visit.

She has actually been to about 50 of the 1000 places. Thanks to a tip from this book, she did stop at a place near Jackson, Mississippi during a road trip. So, it's not all bad.

And she does refer to the book when planning her vacations.

I would rate this book around 2.5 to 3. I'm guessing my mother would also give a similar rating, but for different reasons. When I read a travelogue, I prefer to have an in-depth look at the places and the people visited, rather than just short blurbs.

However, this book would be an ideal choice for people who travel a lot. It can serve as a useful reference to consult when they are planning their trips.

If you have a penchant for luxury hotels, then you are bound to have an affinity for this book. However, if your inclination lies in seeking out the places around the world that are a must-see before one's demise, then it would be advisable to look at UNESCO's ever-expanding list of heritage sites. Currently, this list has not quite reached the milestone of 1000, but it is expected to do so within just a few years.

As a seasoned world traveler, I am in a position to assert that Schultz repeatedly fails to hit the mark when it comes to identifying the most beautiful, interesting, or historic places to visit in any given country. In fact, there are instances when she completely skips over entire countries!

Engage in a conversation with any world traveler who has unfortunately made the error of purchasing this book, and you will be bombarded with a litany of complaints about just how abysmal it truly is.

It is essential to approach such travel guides with a discerning eye and not rely solely on their recommendations. There are numerous other reliable sources and personal experiences that can provide a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of the world's remarkable destinations.

The book is as thick as a dictionary, which makes it not very exciting to read. I flipped through it like a magazine.

It is divided according to the continents, and within it are the countries that you can visit. There are some simple things in Egypt, and this doesn't interest me much.

I'm also not interested in the part about Israel, which actually originated from Palestine!

It only recommends some expensive restaurants and hotels. I think the information on Google for any country is better than this!

Maybe the author could have provided more in-depth and useful information, such as local customs, historical sites, and unique experiences. This way, the book would be more engaging and valuable for readers.

Overall, I was disappointed with this book and would not recommend it to others.

I have a great passion for reading about the places they recommend all around the world. It's truly fascinating to explore the descriptions and details of these various destinations. As I read, I love to check off the places that I've already visited.

Although I know that I won't be able to reach all 1,000 places that they suggest, I still feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and fortune. The opportunity to travel to some truly amazing places and immerse myself in so many incredible cultures and meet so many wonderful people is something that I cherish deeply.

Each travel experience has been a unique and life-enriching adventure, and it has broadened my horizons and made me a more understanding and open-minded person. I look forward to continuing to explore new places and creating more memories in the future.

Europe is a continent with a rich and diverse history, culture, and geography. It has been the center of many great civilizations and has had a significant impact on the world. However, when it comes to books and resources, it seems that Europe often gets more attention than other continents.

For example, a recent book I read had over 300 pages dedicated to Europe, while less than 70 pages were devoted to Africa. What's more, West Africa was summed up in just 4 pages. This was so brief that I actually thought there might have been a mistake when I read about something in Ethiopia and it seemed out of place.

Africa is a vast and diverse continent, much larger than Europe in terms of land area. It is home to a wide variety of cultures, languages, and traditions, and has a long and complex history. There are countless experiences and stories to be discovered and shared.

It's important to recognize that our perspectives and the information we consume can be influenced by Eurocentrism. We need to seek out more updated and diverse resources that can provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of the world. By doing so, we can expand our knowledge and understanding and appreciate the richness and diversity of all continents.

I had the first thick edition, and the second addition has brought significant changes. It has added more countries, a whopping 200 new entries, and over 600 color photos. With a total of 1200 pages, this truly is an interesting reference book. It serves as a great resource for anyone who loves to travel or dreams of embarking on adventures.

One can simply look through it to envision where they wish to go next or discover what highlights they may have missed in places they have already visited.

However, I have one major objection to the book. If budget travelers rely solely on this book without conducting further research, it may potentially discourage them from traveling anywhere. In the first edition, there were valid criticisms as only the most expensive luxury hotels were mentioned. This time, the author claims that more moderate hotels have been added. But unfortunately, these are still more costly than what the majority of people can afford.

Having personal experience in many of the countries mentioned, I am well aware that there are clean and comfortable hotels available at a fraction of the prices listed in the book. Far too many of the accommodations in the book are in the $350 to $500+ range, and the prices for the tours are clearly geared towards the luxury traveler with deep pockets.

I truly hope that a third addition will be more slanted towards the majority of people who渴望 to see some of the world. Otherwise, this book might scare them away. Overall, I would rate this book 2.5 stars.

Good concept - poor execution.

I was truly disappointed to see that nothing in Serbia was listed on here. Really?

I can easily think of at least two remarkable places in Serbia - the magnificent Kalamegdan Fortress and the breathtaking Uvac river.

The selection seems to be extremely subjective, and thus it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Perhaps the person or group responsible for creating this list had their own specific criteria or biases that led to the exclusion of these wonderful Serbian attractions.

It's a shame that such great places are not given the recognition they deserve.

Serbia has so much to offer in terms of history, culture, and natural beauty, and it's a pity that it's not properly represented in this context.

Hopefully, in the future, a more comprehensive and objective approach will be taken to showcase the true diversity and splendor of Serbia's attractions.

As an avid traveler, I have an insatiable desire to explore numerous places around the world. However, I was rather disappointed with some of the listings I came across.

When it comes to the so-called "places to see," I had expected it to be mainly centered around cities or famous tourist attractions. While it makes sense to include restaurants and hotels within a city listing to provide comprehensive information about the local amenities, including a specific hotel or restaurant as one of the 1,000 must-see places before I die seems a bit of a stretch.

There are countless other remarkable and awe-inspiring things to witness on this planet. From natural wonders like majestic mountains, vast deserts, and beautiful beaches, to historical landmarks and cultural treasures, the world offers an abundance of truly unforgettable experiences. Compared to these, a hotel lobby seems rather mundane and unworthy of being included in such a prestigious list.

I believe that the focus should be on those places that have the power to leave a lasting impression and expand our understanding and appreciation of the world.

The research presented here is truly excellent and provides an abundance of information.

It is quite evident that the author is extremely well-read as she skillfully points out various locations that are featured in books and movies.

This has had a significant impact on me as my bucket list now feels like an over-packed suitcase.

There are so many places that I now want to visit and explore, thanks to the author's detailed descriptions and references.

I am excited to start planning my future adventures and crossing off these amazing locations from my list.

The author's work has truly inspired me and has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me to discover.

I look forward to reading more of her work and learning even more about the wonderful places that exist in our world.

Overall, this is a great piece of writing that I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in travel, literature, or movies.
