The writing style is also excellent, with clear and vivid descriptions that bring the scenes and settings to life. Whether it's a thrilling adventure, a touching romance, or a thought-provoking mystery, this book has something for everyone. It is a book that you will not want to put down once you start reading. So, if you're looking for a great read, look no further than this good book.
Anyone who desires to contend that a Christian author fails to inspire might not hold a favorable view of this review. Throughout each fictional narrative, I found myself highly motivated. The stories had a profound impact on me, making me aspire to become a better individual. I yearned to be more loving and more giving. The inclusion of scripture references within the text served as a significant source of motivation! How I wish the entire world would turn to Heavenly Father and His Son. I firmly believe that if this were to happen, the world would undoubtedly be a far better place. Without a doubt.
Here are three remarkable stories that are bound to inspire. Do you have the courage to explore them? :)
REVIEW:
This book took a considerable amount of time to read as it contains three novels. The author, Karen Kingsbury, has truly crafted a page-turner. In fact, I would say she has written three well-written novels. You'll find yourself unable to wait to turn the page and discover what will happen next.
The first story, "WHERE YESTERDAY LIVES," is about Ellen. Her father's death leads to various problems among the characters, which are easy to understand. Ms. Kingsbury makes you feel as if you know the characters intimately and can sense their emotions. The story features two sisters who almost despise each other. It delves into past issues and thoughts of having affairs. The family not only has to deal with their own problems but also those of others. The ending is sure to leave you with teary eyes.
Novel Two, "WHEN JOY CAME TO STAY," is equally good. Decisions made long ago cause grief and guilt for one woman. She believes her husband is the reason for the choices she made and decides to check into an institution. In response, her husband begins to investigate her past to understand what has made her act this way.
Number Three, "ON EVERY SIDE," is completely different from the first two stories, yet it is still excellent. Bethany has had a statue in the town center for years. Now, they are facing a lawsuit as there is an association that doesn't want religious statues due to the separation of church and state. They love to sue people for such things and so they target Bethany. It seems that a lawyer has some sort of issue with the statue. Ms. Kingsbury weaves the story together with several different characters.
It will take some time to read this book. I would suggest reading one story and then waiting a day or so before starting another. The books will inspire you to live every minute of every day in your faith, regardless of what that faith may be. You will find that the stories have grace and forgiveness. They show how sometimes we take very bad actions and the characters lead real lives that could be similar to ours. Sometimes those who claim to be Christians don't always act as such and fail to make godly decisions. There were fathers in each of the stories who didn't fulfill their role as fathers. They didn't protect their daughters or lead them in the right way. It's truly sad because it is so true in real life. Usually, the same thing happens, and it's never good.
As usual, Karen Kingsbury has done it again, not once but three times. These are good, clean, and honest reads that may make you stop and reflect for a moment. You might even find that a character is a copy of you.
I would give this book 5 STARS.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by Waterbrook Multnomah Publishing for this unbiased review.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has a penchant for fast reading. The concept of the 3 in 1 is truly a great idea. It offers a unique and convenient reading experience, allowing readers to enjoy multiple stories or perspectives within a single volume. I have been so impressed with this book that I am now eager to explore more of her works. Her writing style is engaging, the plots are captivating, and the characters are well-developed. I believe that anyone who gives this book a chance will be equally enthralled. Very good
