I read the summary at the back of the book and I thought to myself, "Oh yes, I definitely have to read this one." So, I went ahead and bought it. But to my great disappointment, all that excitement and rush was for nothing.

Maybe if I were to read it again, I might manage to get that supposedly amazing and wow-inducing message that it was supposed to convey, or maybe not. The truth is, the book was just 'ok'. It didn't really live up to the expectations that the summary had set.

After rereading it, I do understand some of the points in the book a bit better. However, there seems to be a disconnect when the author tries to explain about my captivating heart. I can't help but wonder if this was written merely to generate interest for the concept of "Captivating" or perhaps to get the kind of attention that "Captivating" supposedly received. It makes me question the true intention behind the words on the page.

Overall, my experience with this book has been a bit of a letdown, despite the initial promise it held.

I now have a much clearer understanding of the other aspects that God desires to be a part of my life. This newfound clarity has had a profound impact on me. As a result, I am able to lean more fully and trustingly on Him.
